Gameplay
Have you ever played The Sims or the Second Life? SmallWorlds is very similar to them. What impresses me most is that when you create your avatar, you can customize the facial features just like you do in The Sims! You can choose from two given shapes, and use the slider to morph between them. This means you can really have your own unique avatar. And this is the first time I’ve found an avatar system that allows complete customization in a browser based game.

One of the major features of SmallWorlds is that you can manage your own 3D house and interact with other players. You can own a house in your favourite style. A garden? A dungeon? Or, a space station? No problem! And the system provides many featured places for entertainment, such as mini game rooms, dancing clubs and so on. There are also various types of themed shops.
Another aspect is the Mission system. You need gold and tokens to make your house look nice. This can be done by taking missions. There are tons of system missions, and players can also create missions. If the mission you created is attractive enough, it will be taken by thousands of players.

There are helpers wandering in the game world. You can easily find them because they have a sun cross (a cross inside a circle) over their head. They will be pleased to answer your questions. So you will never get lost in the game.
Conclusion
SmallWorlds has a nice look and is thoughtful in details. The large number of players and the highly customized gameplay keep the game fresh every single day.
One problem about the high-definition graphics is the long loading time. You have to wait a bit long before you can enter a new place. And this could be a disaster for those outdated computers.

To sum up, SmallWorlds is a casual community. Whether you wish to play all day, or just for a break, it will satisfy you.
